Sister Sister

Life's more colorful when you're around people you love.. =]

 

Unlike my sister who is totally confident in front of the camera, I absolutely am the opposite..I usually

take pictures when it's dark or when I'm a mile away from the camera...

 

Well this one's an exception. As soon as I got home from school, I just felt like getting a snapshot with my sister.

So, dad gets in the picture of being the photographer today, and it actually looks good!! Great job, dad!!

One last thing.

It wasn't until a few minutes ago when I realized it'll be February in a few days...time really does fly.

It doesn't even feel like I've been taking Chinese classes for almost a month now, but when I started skimming through the pages

of my textbook, I was surprised how I came to learn(well,sorta...) more than a hundred characters already..For me, that is already groundbreaking.. it may not be a lot,but I'm getting there..

When boredom takes over..

This is one of those typical Sunday nights when there isn't anything good to do.

After earning 5 PS3 trophies on Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, I found myself lying on the bed and staring blankly on the ceiling.

What is there to do other than drowning my brain with Chinese characters and Pinyin words?

[which,by the way, I was really supposed to do since Friday to get ready for my next Chapter exam]

I gazed around the room to look for other things to work on...

a. organize the DVDs...CHECK.

b. play PS3...CHECK..

c. do homework..CHECK..

There wasn't really anything else to do!!Then, my eyes locked on my sewing machine, BRIE[yes, I do name my stuff..haha]..

Why not sew something? 

I'll admit I don't really sew, but I'm the type of person who likes to buy things that would come in handy one of these days, and Brie definitely proved my point.

I took out the scraps of cloth I have already sewn together a few months back, and decided to make BANDIT something

to keep him cozy and comfy[Bandit is yet another gadget I absolutely adore!]

I just love the mix of colors!

How about you?What else do you do when you run out of things to do?haha..that was confusing!

A quick trip to Chinatown

Today was a perfect day to grab my sweater and take a quick trip to Chinatown with my dad. We never hang out as much as we did when I was younger, so why not take him with me?...It was his first time in Chinatown and you can see how amazed he was while checking out the little stalls all lined up along Broadway...He said it looked similar to the markets in the Philippines. haha =]
 

He bought himself a USA cap,

 ...and I bought myself a couple of bracelets [3 for $5]..  I wanted to buy more coz I totally love these kind of bracelets, but because dad is around, I had to lay low on spending..lol

We also bought Tikoy[just thinking about it makes me hungry] in observance of the Chinese New Year!

Test results are out! =]

After filling up three whole pages of paper with Pinyin and Chinese characters, I stood up my desk to start getting ready for school. Surprising how it only took me about twenty minutes to finish the exam.

Test results are out!!! And I luckily got a perfect score [plus another perfect score for last Monday's quiz]..

I'm loving this class so far!!!!

Second week of winter classes...yes, i am still alive!

I registered for this class without even thinking how it will turn out..

For someone who doesn't speak any Chinese at all,
I'm happy to tell everyone that I am still standing and 
as a matter of factam doing good working with basic pinyin 
and Chinese characters.

I wonder how much I will learn...
Now back to my notes(first exam tomorrow)....fighting!

Addicted on Clothes Thrifted

..and just like that, I quickly got addicted to vintage clothing and thrift stores...


Now all I need is time to hand wash all of them.. =]

.....and here I am,yet again, starting another blog which I'm not sure would last for more than 5 posts[i do hope it won't happen this time]. For someone who totally adores writing journals and taking pictures of almost anything under the sun, it's really weird how I can't make myself start a blog and actually keep it alive.

Goodbye, 2011...Hello, 2012!

 While patiently waiting for the ball to finally drop in Times Square, NY, I took my time looking back to the moments which made 2011 a great year.....if I was to make a list, it'll be an endless one. Going back to school after 6 years, and meeting my forever and always love, Luo Zhi Xiang, would most probably be the highlights of  2011. 

And now, as I welcome another chapter of our life, I carry the hopes and wishes that this year will rock way even better than the years before!

CHANGE starts now,

and it'll start with ME..
